Introduction to HTML

HTML is an essential part of any website because it helps users navigate through a site. HTML is also used to display information on websites. You’ll learn how to write HTML tags and attributes, as well as how to format text using CSS.

The Document Object Model (DOM)

HTML is made up of two parts: the document object model (DOM) and the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML). The DOM is what makes HTML work; it’s the structure of the web pages. It contains all the elements that make up a web page, such as headings, paragraphs, images, links, and more. The HTML language is used to describe these elements.

Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)

CSS is another programming language used by web designers. It allows them to style the appearance of web pages. This includes things like font size, color, background colors, borders, spacing, and much more.

Hypertext Markup Language (HTML)

HTML is a markup language that defines the structure of a web page. It tells the browser what text should appear where, and how the page should look. HTML also contains tags that define the formatting of the text. These tags tell the browser how to display the text.

XHTML

There are two main versions of HTML: HTML 4.01 and HTML 5. HTML 5 is the latest version of HTML, and it has some new features that make it easier to write clean, semantic code. However, not everyone knows how to use HTML 5 yet, so we will start with HTML 4.01.
